a total of 1432 en-suite bedrooms. The flats comprise of 6, 7 or 8 bedrooms, mostly
single bedded but some with twin or double beds and a communal kitchen and dining
area. Accommodation is available for students with physical disabilities.
Digs understand the importance of your valuable study time and have created separate
areas for leisure, study, sleep and entertainment. Broadband internet is included as
standard in all rooms.
For your peace of mind, the site is manned 24 hours a day by a dedicated and trained
staff available to assist with any situation.
However, you have easy access to superb facilities where you can drink, rest, exercise,
entertain and socialise with a range of amenities to ensure you make the most of your
leisure time at the same time you can choose to study in your room or take advantage
of the free, on-site computer centre enabling you to study with ease.

Within the reception building is a mini supermarket for your convenience. It
hosts a wide variety of products to cover your every need from fresh provisions
and groceries to newspapers, alcohol and stamps all at competitive prices.
Computer Centre
Computers are available to use by all residents with internet access.
The centre is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week enabling you to complete your
work in your own time.
TV Lounge
Within the reception building you will find a communal lounge, creating a
relaxing public area where you can unwind and watch TV.
DVD Shop
The DVD Library was recently introduced to the mini supermarket at the request of
students. It allows the hiring and purchasing of DVD’s at a competitive rate
whilst being conveniently located. The DVD Library is open between 7.30am - 11pm
during the academic year.
Bits & Bobs Shop
This shop hosts many products that Students may find usefull throughout the
academic year. This shop is located in the reception building.
Tanning Salon
Within the Bits & Bobs shop there is a modern tanning salon, with changing
room. Lotions and creams available to purchase.
ATM Machine
Located in the reception and bar are ATM’s enabling you to check your
bank balance and withdraw cash as and when you require.
Vending Machine
Within reception there is a full range of vending machines for you to use
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They provide a range of products from hot and
cold drinks to confectionery and soft drinks.

Storthes Hall Park lies 5 miles (8Km) to the south east of Huddersfield just
off the A629 Sheffield/Penistone Road, near the village of Kirkburton. It is
accessible from the M1, A1, M62 and M6 and within 1 hours drive of 5 major
cities.

By Road
Storthes Hall Park is easily reached from both the M62 and M1 as well as other
major routes; it is only 15 minutes journey from Huddersfield town centre.
Storthes Hall Park lies 5 miles (8 kilometres) to the South East of Huddersfield just
off the A629 Sheffield, Penistone Road, near the village of Kirkburton. lt is accessible
from the M1, A1, M62 and M6 and is within one hours drive of 5 major cities.
From Huddersfield Town Centre
Storthes Hall Park can be easily reached from Huddersfield town centre. Follow the
Wakefield Road from the Shorehead roundabout (near the University Sports Hall) for 2
miles until you reach the traffic lights at Waterloo. Bear right at the lights along
the Sheffield/Penistone Road following the road for approximately 2 miles. Go past the
White Swan public house (on your left) and take the right hand turn (sign posted Storthes
Hall Park Student Village) into Storthes Hall Lane. Continue along Storthes Hall Lane
for approximately 1/2 mile, the entrance to Storthes Hall Park is on your left.
From the M62 Eastbound
Exit at Junction 23, take the A640 (2nd exit off the roundabout) to Huddersfield Town
Centre Ring Road and follow the directions above.
From the M62 Westbound
Exit at Junction 24, take the A629 (4th exit off the roundabout) to Huddersfield Town
Centre Ring Road and follow the directions above from the Town Centre.
From the M1 Northbound
Exit at Junction 37, go left at the roundabout onto the A628 to Manchester. Turn left
at the next roundabout (just after a level crossing) and after 4½ miles turn right at the
roundabout onto the A629 to Huddersfield. After 8½ miles you enter Kirkburton, after 1/3
mile look for the Foxglove Public House on your left and take the next left down the side
road signposted for Storthes Hall Park Student Village and Farnley Tyas. Turn left at the
T Junction and we are 1/2 mile up the hill on the left hand side.
From the M1 Southbound
Exit at Junction 39, take the A636 to Denby Dale (right at the roundabout). After 3 miles
go straight ahead at the roundabout (still the A636 to Denby Dale). After 10 miles turn
right at the staggered crossroads onto the A629 to Huddersfield. After 3 miles you
enter Kirkburton and look for the Foxglove Public House as directions above.
Shuttle Bus
A regular subsidised bus service operates between Storthes Hall Park and the main
University Campus at Queensgate, during the academic year. Information and timetables are
displayed in the reception building. A less frequent, non subsidised service operates
during the Christmas and Easter breaks.
Parking
Digs provides free car parking facilities at Storthes Hall Park. However, this has limited
availability of 300 parking spaces. To control vehicles entering the site a vehicle site
entry permit is required for those wishing to park their vehicles at Storthes Hall Park.
The vehicle site entry permit has an admin fee and is issued on a first come, first
served basis.
